Whereas, the National Summer Learning Association works to ensure all of America’s students, regardless of background, income, or zip code, can access and benefit from a high-quality summer learning experience every year; and Whereas, the Newark Board of Education has been honored with the New York Life Foundation Excellence in Summer Learning Award from the National Summer Learning Association. Since 2005, this award, defined by its rigorous application and selection process, has recognized enrollment-based programs that keep children and youth safe, healthy and learning during the critical summer months; and |
