Summary:
The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation seeks to enter into a contract with the Newark Board of Education to operate the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) New Jersey program at these high schools: Central, Barringer, Weequahic, West Side and Malcolm X. Shabazz from 2025-2027.

The JAG NJ program is financed using corporate, foundation and individual contributions, public funds from NJ, and participating school in- kind contributions. The program creates business, industry and education partnerships committed to achieving the mission to ensure students remain in high school, attain employable skills through classroom and work based learning experiences during high school and follow up services to transition into a career or post secondary education.
 
Funding :
$5000 affiliation fee per school
Barringer High School and Weequahic High School, due to their continuous participation in the JAG program prior to 2019, are exempt from paying the annual affiliation fee.
Total amount of contract will not exceed $35,000
 
Recommendation to the Board
Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this contract between the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Newark Board of Education.
