Summary:

WHEREAS, by resolution adopted at its Reorganization Meeting on May 5, 2022, the Board of Education of the City of Newark (“Board”) authorized and approved a professional services contract with the law firm of Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC, to serve as outside counsel in assigned matters with terms including but not limited to billing rates of $175.00 per hour for attorneys and $90.00 for paralegals, subject to the availability of funds;
WHEREAS, Ramon Rivera, Esq. has advised the Board that effective December 1, 2022, he will be moving from Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC to another law firm, Antonelli, Kantor, Rivera, P.C.; and
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to continue the authorization and approval for Rivera to serve as its counsel; |

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board hereby approves the appointment of Antonelli, Kantor, Rivera, P.C. as outside counsel in assigned matters and authorizes a professional services contract with this firm with terms approved by General Counsel, including but not limited to billing rates of $175.00 for attorneys and $90.00 for paralegals, for the period December 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, subject to the availability of funds. |
