Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received on Friday, September 30, after public advertising for Design Consultant Services for Emergency and/or Capital Projects, request for proposals were issued to twenty-four (24) vendors with eleven (11) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, this request for proposal is 100% set-aside for certified Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) and/or Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE) businesses; and
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalists identified below as the best qualified vendors based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a two (2) year period with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period or for the length of time authorized and necessary for the completion of the actual construction of a single project in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-42(k); and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by DiGroup Architecture is rejected and deemed non-responsive for failure to submit a signed proposal; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Interim Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Design Consultant Services for the period of November 22, 2022 through November 21, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
9484A CTS Group Architecture/Planning PA, Chatham, NJ at a cost not to exceed $1,500,000.00
9484B The Architects Alliance, Blasé Weimer AIA, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $1,500,000.00
9484C Heritage Architecture, Ridgewood, NJ at a cost not to exceed $1,000,000.00
9484D OCA Architects, Inc., Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $1,000,000.00
9484E EI Associates, Architects & Engineers, PA, Cedar Knolls, NJ at a cost not to exceed $750,000.00
