Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to improve and expand education programs beyond high school; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contract with the Aviation Institute of Maintenance to offer aviation related courses for students; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education is authorized to enter into an agreement for extraordinary unspecifiable services in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-5a (2); and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a two (2) year period with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent and Havier Nazario, Chief of Staff. |

Recommendation to the Board

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for student participation in aviation courses for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Teterboro, NJ at a cost not to exceed $560,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide students with the opportunity to take aviation relates courses and earn aviation related certifications while in high school. Subject to the availability of funds. |
