WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, after public advertisement for Repairs to Heating Pumps including Circulating Pumps, Condensate Pumps, Sewer Ejector Pumps and Related Accessories, request for bids were issued to fifty-eight (58) vendors with three (3) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original contract during the December 21, 2021 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of December 21, 2021 through December 20, 2023, with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education awarded multiple contracts to ensure the District has sufficient contractors to perform all the required work in an expeditious manner; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to ensure all school properties have fully operational heating pumps for the 2022-2023 heating season; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract increasing the award value from an amount not to exceed of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) to four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000.00); and WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract was reviewed and approved by Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator. |

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Repairs to Heating Pumps Including Circulating Pumps, Condensate Pumps, Sewer Ejector Pumps and Related Accessories for a two (2) year period of December 21, 2021 through December 20, 2023 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period from a cost not to exceed of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) to four hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($450,000.00) as follows: Award Priority 1 Longo Electrical Mechanical, Inc, Wharton, NJ Award Priority 2 Magic Touch Construction Company, Inc., Keyport, NJ EXPLANATION: To provide repairs to various heating pumps throughout the District as needed. |
