Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contract with Rutgers University to provide non-instructional employees jump start courses to successfully prepare for Praxis CORE exam; and .
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county, or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a one (1) year period of August 25, 2022 through August 24, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Yolanda Mendez, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources |

Recommendation to the Board

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Rutgers Jumpstart Program for a one (1) year period commencing August 25, 2022 through August 24, 2023 as follows:
Rutgers University, Newark, NJ at an amount not to exceed $55,000.00
EXPLANATION: to provide non-instructional employees courses to successfully prepare for Praxis CORE examinations. Subject to the availability of funding. |
