Summary:
WHEREAS, request for bid were originally advertised to be received on Thursday, February 3, 2022 for Detergent/ Dispensing Equipment Service and Supplies, request for bids were issued to ten (10) vendors with zero vendors responding; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education re-advertised the solicitation to receive bids on Thursday, May 5, 2022 . Request for bid were issued to thirty-seven (37) vendors with zero bidders responding; and

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education then began negotiations to award a contract; and

WHEREAS, the negotiated vendor’s proposal and the District’s terms will become the contract in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5c; and

WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Tonya McGill, Executive Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

Recommendation to the Board
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contract for Detergent/ Dispensing Equipment Service and Supplies from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024 as follows

Ecolab Inc., St. Paul, MN at a cost not to exceed $360,000.00

EXPLANATION: To provide school cafeterias with detergent and dispensing equipment. Subject to availability of funds.
