WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education advertised to receive bids on Thursday, April 24, 2025 for Field House and Concession Stand Improvements Untermann Field at Weequahic High School, 279 Chancellor Avenue , Newark, NJ 07112. Request for bids were issued to twenty-one (21) vendors with six (6) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education wishes to award a contract to Pravco, Inc., 245 Wescott Dr., Rahway, NJ 07065; and
WHEREAS, the award amount is the total lump sum base bid plus allowances one through three in the amount of one million five hundred ninety-two thousand four hundred twenty-five dollars ($1,592,425.00); and
WHEREAS, an additional twenty percent (20%) in the amount of three hundred eighteen thousand four hundred eighty-five dollars ($318,485.00) is requested as a contingency allowance; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Acting Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of contract for Field House and Concession Stand Improvements, Untermann Field at Weequahic High School in the amount of $1,592,425.00 with a 20% contingency allowance of $318,485.00.
EXPLANATION: To provide field house and concession stand improvements at Untermann Field.
