Summary:
|
Whereas, the Ironbound Community Corporation Family Friendly Center has agreed to provide Hawkins Street School with youth and family programming and to connect them with useful community contacts within the Ironbound.
Under this agreement, the ICC Family Friendly Center agrees to provide:
Access to youth and family programming specifically through ICC’s
Family Support Centers and other ICC programs
Collaborative opportunities under Neighborhood revitalization
planning and implementation with additional support provided by
ICC’s Environmental Justice programming
Promote Hawkins Street School materials in ICCs office and at
community centered events
Connect Hawkins Street School with useful community contacts
within the Ironbound.
Under this agreement, Hawkins Street School agrees to provide:
Four classrooms and access to the gym and playground for
afterschool programming use
Attend East Ironbound Revitalization Planning/Community
Advisory Board or Steering Committee meetings when possible
Connect ICC’s FFC to community resources
Display ICC programming information and calendars
Collaborate on programming to strengthen community cohesion and
celebrate cultural diversity.

Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Memorandum of Understanding between the Ironbound Community Corporation Family Friendly Center and the Newark Board of Education.
