Summary: Whereas, the Newark Board of Education seeks to provide additional individualized reading intervention through a partnership with Reading Partners, a nonprofit organization offering evidence-based, one-on-one reading support. This collaboration will deliver structured tutoring programs aimed at improving literacy for students and their families. Reading Partners will implement a program model that includes individualized tutoring while collaborating with district teachers to identify and enroll students in need. The partnership will ensure that personnel receive appropriate training, comply with district policies, and regularly monitor student progress.
Funding : No cost to the District
Recommendation to the Board: Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Newark Board of Education approves this Memorandum of Understanding with Reading Partners to provide individualized, evidence-based literacy tutoring to students at no cost to the District.
