Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contractual agreement with Montclair State University to offer targeted professional development services for novice teachers as part of their new teacher induction support; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, the contract period shall be from August 18, 2022 through June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation to award term contract was reviewed and approved by Herbert Daughtry, Director of Educator Effectiveness.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Induction Professional Development Services from August 18, 2022 through June 30, 2023 as follows:
Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ at an amount not to exceed $49,000.00
EXPLANATION: To offer targeted professional development services for novice teachers as part of their new teacher induction support. Subject to the availability of funds.
