Summary:

WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 after public advertisement for Electrical Service and Standby Generator Phase IIA and IIB at Newark Vocational High School, request for bids were issued to thirty-eight (38) vendors with five (5) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education wishes to award a contract for Electrical Service and Standby Generator Phase IIA and IIB at Newark Vocational High School to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder, Vanore Electric, Inc., 238 High St., Hackensack, NJ 07601; and
WHEREAS, the award amount is the base bid of three hundred eighty thousand three hundred fifty dollars ($380,350.00); and
WHEREAS, an additional twenty (20%) in the amount of seventy-six thousand seventy dollars ($76,070.00) is requested for a contingency allowance; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation of award has been reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Vincent Hutcheson, Director of Project Control.

NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of contract for Electrical Service and Standby Generator Phase IIA and IIB at Newark Vocational High School in the amount of $380,350.00 with a 20% contingency allowance of $76,070.00 commencing with issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Subject to availability of funds.
