Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Friday, July 23, 2021, after public advertisement for Work Uniforms, bids were issued to twenty-two (22) vendors with three (3) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, the term of the contract shall be for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the solicitation for Work Uniforms included a pricing component for a percentage discount on work uniforms based on the suggested manufacturer sale retail price for various work apparel, and this award of contract will include those discounts; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts were reviewed and approved by Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist and Wali F. Thomas, Director of Custodial Services.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Work Uniforms for a two (2) year period commencing with date of award with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
A. Feury Image Group, Inc., Newark, NJ 23 items at a cost not to exceed $89,534.00
B. JLMP Sporting Goods, Corp. Elizabeth, NJ 89 items at a cost not to exceed $209,041.00
C. Smart Stitch, LLC. DBA Specialty Graphics Ewing, NJ 26 items at a cost not to exceed $90,725.00
EXPLANATION: To Newark Board of Education requires uniforms for support staff to provide uniformity and identification of staff employees.
