Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Friday, August 5, 2022 after public advertisement for High School Student Enrichment, Expanded Learning, and Teacher Professional Development Services. Request for proposals were issued to nine (9) vendors with five (5) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by The Dr. Muhammad Experience Inc. is rejected and deemed unresponsive as this vendor failed to submit a signed proposal; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the submissions from Voices International Publications and West Side High School Alumni Association are rejected and deemed unresponsive as these vendors failed to submit proposals as prescribed in the request for proposal specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires highly qualified service providers for in school, out of school, summer enrichment, and extended learning programs; and
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalist identified below as the best qualified vendor based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for High School Student Enrichment, Expanded Learning, and Teacher Professional Development
Services for a two (2) year period of September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
Lavinia Group, Eagan, MN at a cost not to exceed $171,000.00
