Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education received proposals on Friday, January 7, 2022 for Architect and Design Planning Services; request for proposals were issued to three (3) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the District desires professional architect and design planning services for the School of Architecture and Interior Design located at 155 Jefferson Street, Newark, NJ 07105; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the original award of contract during the January 27, 2022 for a one-year period of January 19, 2022 through January 18, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the current contract for inclusion of additional specialized Career Technical Education spaces not included in the original scope of services; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Interim Executive Director of Facilities Management and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Architect and Design Planning Services for a one (1) year period from January 19, 2022 through January 18, 2023 as follows:
RSC Architects, P.A., Hackensack, NJ at an amount not to exceed from $137,720.000 to $185,720.00 (additional $48,000.00)
EXPLANATION: To provide professional architect and design planning services for the School of Architecture and Interior Design. Subject to availability of funds.
