Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to provide testing supplies and training for initial evaluations and reevaluations for student Individualized Education Programs to determine a student’s disabling condition; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5(a)5, the District is authorized to award a contract without public advertisement for educational goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the contract shall be for a one (1) year period commencing September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Marilyn Mitchell, Director of Special Education.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education approves the award of contract for Special Education Assessment and Training materials from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023 as follows:
A. Pearson Education, Inc., New York, NY at a cost not to exceed $200,000.00
B. Riverside Insights Co., Itasca, IL at a cost not to exceed $15,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide assessment materials for initial evaluations and reevaluations for students as needed. Subject to the availability of funds.
