Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to enter into a contract with Rutgers University to provide two cohorts of teacher participants with a New Jersey endorsement in math; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement with the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, county, or municipality or any board, body, officer, agency authority or board of education or any other state or subdivision thereof in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5b; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved the award of contract during the August 26, 2021 Board Meeting for a one (1) year period of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to amend the contract term from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022 to September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Mary Ann Reilly, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for teachers to obtain their New Jersey math endorsement for a two (2) year period of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023 as follows:
Rutgers University, Newark, NJ at an amount not to exceed from $130,000.00 to $290,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide Newark Board of Education teacher participants with a New Jersey endorsement in math. Subject to the availability of funding.
