Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received electronically on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, after public advertisement for Lead In Paint Stabilization at Peshine Avenue School, 433 Peshine Avenue, Newark, NJ 07112. Request for bids were issued to nineteen (19) vendors with four (4) vendors responding, see award analysis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the prices submitted by Peace of Mind Construction Group LLC and Optimum Environmental are rejected, as these vendors failed to submit the requisite bid guarantee and or signed bid; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education wishes to award a contract to Apex Development, Inc. 358 Broadway, Newark, NJ 07104; and
WHEREAS, the award amount is the total lump sum base bid in the amount of three million seven hundred thousand dollars ($3,700,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of contract has been reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Acting Executive Director of Facilities Management and Operations and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.
