Summary:

WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to retain a consultant with an extensive global network to provide consulting services for Newark School of Global Studies High School and Malcolm X Shabazz High School for developing strategic partnerships, reviewing and evaluating course sequences; and
WHEREAS, the District is authorized to enter into an agreement for extraordinary unspecifiable services in accordance with NJSA 18A:18A-5a (2); and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of November 1, 2021 through October 31, 2023 with the option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Dr. Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Global Education Enhancement Consultancy for a two (2) year period of November 1, 2021 through October 31, 2023 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
Legacy Inc. Everybody Has One LLC, Los Angeles, CA at a cost not to exceed $200,000.00
EXPLANATION: The Newark Board of Education desires to retain a global education consultant to aid in the development of strategic partnerships and enhanced classroom experiences.
