Summary:
|
WHEREAS, request for proposal 9589 Dual Enrollment College Courses was available for download on the Newark Board of Education’s website with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to contract and collaborate with a third-party vendor with
an extensive network of colleges and universities including Historically Black Colleges/Universities and Ivy League Colleges/Universities, to provide dual enrollment opportunities at a reduced course/credit rate; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education is authorized to enter into an agreement for extraordinary unspecifiable services in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-5a (2); and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two-year (2) year period of October 3, 2022 through August 31, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract Dual Enrollment Pre-College Programming for a two-year (2) year period of October 3, 2022 through August 31, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
National Education Equity Lab Inc., New York, NY at a cost not to exceed $110,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide students with the opportunity to earn college credits during high school. Subject to the availability of funds.
