Summary:
|
Whereas, the Save the Music Foundation has agreed to provide a Save the music grant to ten schools. The following schools will be awarded a grant of new musical instruments upon
signing the attached agreement:
Chancellor Avenue School – Band
Dr. E Alma Flagg School – Band
East Ward Elementary School – Band
Harriet Tubman School – Band
Michelle Obama Elementary School – Intro to Music
Mt. Vernon School – Band
Salomé Ureña Elementary School – Band
Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School – Intro to Music
Technology High School – J Dilla Music Tech Grant
Science Park High School, Band
The schools will provide a music teacher who will maintain music curriculum and provide instruction each week to students. Save the Foundation will provide instruments, music stands, and sheet music.

Now therefore, be it resolved that the Newark Board of Education approve this Memorandum of Understanding between the Save the Music Foundation and the Newark Board of Education.
