Summary:
|
The researchers would like to conduct an alumni program survey and also conduct a series of stakeholder interviews. The researchers would like to engage in the following research activities:
1. Interviews of 5-10 District Administrators who are involved in the development or administration of the program will be invited to participate in one or two interviews and to be observed during partnership meetings.
2. Interviews of 20-30 School-Based Leaders who work with program participants will be invited to participate in one or two interviews.
3. Interviews of 10-15 program participants will be invited to participate in three interviews (at the beginning, middle, and end of program).
4. Observations of MSU-NBOE partnership meetings will be observed and audio-taped.
5. Exit Survey of Program Alumni to capture the overall experience of participants in the program.
A central purpose of this study is to use data to improve the quality of the Newark Montclair Leadership Preparation Program, which will ideally benefit both current program participants and school and central office administrators. We also hope that the results of this study will contribute to scholarly thinking about place-based leadership preparation and district-university partnerships, as well as inform the practices of districts and leadership preparation institutions as they work on similar programs.
