Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education currently has and desires to continue the Employee Assistance Program assisting with grief/bereavement, stress/anxiety, depression, family issues, legal referrals, debt management, and drug/alcohol abuse for District personnel; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5a (2) the District is authorized to enter into an agreement without advertisement for extraordinary unspecifiable services; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a one (1) year period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Dr. Yolanda Melendez, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT IS RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for the Employee Assistance Program for a service period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 as follows:
Charles Nechtem Associates, Inc., Jersey City, NJ at a cost not to exceed $83,600.00
Explanation: To maintain the employee assistance program for District personnel to assist with grief/bereavement, stress/anxiety, depression, family issues, legal referrals, debt management, and drug/alcohol abuse. Subject to the availability of funds.
