Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Thursday, November 30, 2023 after public advertisement for Professional Development for Health Education, and Safe and Supportive Environments. Request for proposals were issued to four (4) vendors with two (2) vendors responding; and WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires high quality professional development to support all health educators; and WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Michelina Thornton, Director of Federal Programs and Grants.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Professional Development for Health Education, and Safe and Supportive Environments for a two (2) year period commencing January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows: A. Center for Supportive Schools, Princeton, NJ at a cost not to exceed $350,000.00 B. Rutgers the State University doing business as Answer at a cost not to exceed $120,000.00 EXPLANATION: To provide high quality professional development services to support health educators.
