Summary:
|
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education’s Newark School of Fashion and Design shares 233 Woodside Ave, Newark, NJ 07104 with Maria L. Varisco-Rogers Charter School; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires Maria L. Varisco-Rogers Charter School to provide lunches meeting the National School Lunch Program requirements set forth in 7 CFR Section 210.10 and breakfast meeting the School Breakfast Program requirements set forth in 7 CFR Section 220.8; and
WHEREAS, all meals shall confirm to the current applicable meal pattern requirements set forth by federal regulations; and
WHEREAS, the contract term shall be July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, both parties will execute the School Food Authority to School Food Authority Contract; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Dr. Tonya McGill, Executive Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the purchase of Maria L. Varisco-Rogers Charter School Vended Meals from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 as follows:
Archdiocese of Newark/ Maria L. Varisco-Rogers Charter School Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $350,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide the students of the Newark Board of Education with a balanced and nutritious breakfast and lunch.
