Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 after public advertisement for Masonry Restoration and Concrete Sidewalk Repairs Services, request for bids were issue to twenty-four (24) vendors with three (3) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved an award contract at the August 27, 2020 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period of August 27, 2020 through August 26, 2022 with an option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to increase the contract award value from $300,000.00 annually to an amount not to exceed $1,600,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for amendment of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations and Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist, Office of Facilities Management and Operations

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the amendment of term contract for Masonry Restoration and Concrete Sidewalk Services for a two (2) year period of August 27, 2020 through August 26, 2022, with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows:
Award Priority 1 Hilt Construction, Inc., Hillsborough, NJ (S:M)
Award Priority 2 AA Berms, LLC., Belleville, NJ (S:M)
EXPLANATION: To provide masonry restoration and concrete sidewalk repair services.
