Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were electronically received on Friday, March 14, 2025 after public advertisement for Trophies and Awards. Request for bids were issued to thirteen (13) vendors with two (2) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the request for bid was 100% set-aside for certified Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) and/or Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE) businesses; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of the board of education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with NJSA 18:18A-2(y) the bid submitted by Lerro Enterprises is rejected as this vendor failed to satisfy the delivery requirements; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved Sherelle Spriggs, Director of Support Services.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education hereby accepts and approves the award of term contract for Trophies and Awards for a two (2) year period of April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027 as follows:
Memory Makers Awards & Apparel LLC, Hamilton, NJ at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide the District with trophies and awards for students.
