Summary:
|
WHEREAS, bids were received on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 after public advertisement for Landscaping and Ground Maintenance, request for bids were issued to eleven (11) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the original contract was awarded at the November 26, 2019 Board Meeting for a two (2) year period from date of award and contained an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education approved an amendment at the February 25, 2020 Board Meeting expanding the funding source to provide landscaping and ground maintenance services to New Jersey Regional Day School; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires to exercise it sole option to renew for a contract term of November 26, 2021 through November 25, 2023 under the same terms and conditions with no increase in the original contract price; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for renewal of term contract was reviewed and approved by Wali Thomas, Director of Custodial Services and Lisa Abdul, Management Specialist.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the sole renewal of term contract for Landscaping and Ground Maintenance for a two (2) year period commencing November 26, 2021 through November 25, 2023 as follows:
Shauger Property Services, Inc., East Orange, NJ at a cost not to exceed $298,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide landscaping and ground maintenance to Newark Board of Education schools and properties. Subject to the availability of funds.
