Summary:

WHEREAS a Complaint has been filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey, bearing Docket Number ESX-L-1891-23;
WHEREAS the Board of Education (“Board”), through counsel, has denied the allegations in the Complaint;
WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Superintendent and the Governance Committee of the Board, in order to avoid protracted and costly proceedings, the Board finds that it is in the best interest of the Board and the school district to resolve the matter by way of settlement;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
The Board hereby approves and authorizes settlement of the Complaint bearing Docket Number ESX-L-1891-23 in accordance with the terms recommended by the Superintendent and the Governance Committee of the Board, including the disbursement of funds, and the Board hereby authorizes the Board President to execute a settlement agreement on behalf of the Board, which shall include a general release of claims by the plaintiff and such other terms as may be recommended by General Counsel.
