Summary: Whereas, in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Congress enacted as series of laws to address the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic; and

Whereas, pursuant to the FY2024 and FY2025 Appropriations Act, the Executive Director of the Governor’s Disaster Recovery Office, with the approval of the Director of the Division of Budget and Accounting, has allocated one million dollars ($1,000,000) of CSFRF Funds to the Newark Board of Education to fund the Newark Literacy Program; and
Funding : Whereas, the Department of Community Affairs will distribute the CSFRF Funds in four (4) installments of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) for a total awarded amount of $1,000,000.
Recommendation to the Board: Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, the Newark Board of Education accepts the $1,000,000 CSFRF funds from the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for the Newark Literacy Program and will adhere to the terms and conditions provided in the agreement.
