Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Friday, March 14, 2025 after public advertisement for Professional Development for Advanced Placement United States History. Request for proposals were issued to five (5) vendors with one (1) vendor responding; and
WHEREAS, the District desires professional services for teacher professional development in the areas of instruction, curriculum, and assessment development for the high school course of Advanced Placement United States History. Specifically, teachers should receive learning in content and pedagogy to improve instruction, and develop curriculum and assessments in Advanced Placement United States History; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Carynne Conover, Director of Social Studies.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Professional Development for Advanced Placement United States History for a two (2) year period commencing April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
Lisa Beth Hill/ LB Hill Consultants, Hamden, CT at a cost not to exceed $320,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide Advanced Placement United States History professional development for instruction, curriculum, and assessment development.
