Summary:
|
Whereas the researchers request the following educational records for 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and 2026-2027: - Student demographic information - Attendance history - Discipline action history - District assessment scores - State assessment scores Whereas the researchers' goal is to try to measure the impact of the 2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the Newark Board of Education and the Newark Teachers Union that call for the establishment of School Leadership Councils (SLC) in every school. Whereas the researchers would like to conduct on-site surveys, in-person interviews/focus groups, online interviews, and observation. The researchers will reach out for volunteers. The participants involved in the survey include: - Parents: Approximately 200 (2-3 per school) - Teachers: Hundreds (all schools) - Other staff: Hundreds (all schools) - Administrators: Hundreds (all schools) Whereas the researchers also request the Culture and Climate surveys used by the Newark Public Schools to determine if historical data has already been collected that can help measure change in climate and culture as more schools implement the CBA.
