Summary:
|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency bids were electronically received on Thursday, August 4, 2022 after public advertisement for Scaffolding/Sidewalk Bridging Services, request for bids were issued to nine (9) vendors with two (2) vendors responding, see award analysis; and WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4, the District shall award only by resolution of The Board of Education to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) after public advertisement for bids; and WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period commencing August 25, 2022 through August 24, 2024 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period; and WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract was reviewed and approved by Carlos Edmundo, Director of Field Operations and Krystle Whitlock, Assistant School Business Administrator.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Scaffolding/Sidewalk Bridging Services for a two (2) year period commencing August 25, 2022 through August 24, 2024 with the option to renew for one (1) additional two (2) year period as follows: American Sandblasting and Painting, LLC., Farmingdale, NJ at a cost not to exceed $1,000,000.00 EXPLANATION: To provide scaffolding and sidewalk bridging to Newark Board of Education schools and properties as needed. Subject to availability of funds.
