Summary:
WHEREAS, proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Friday, March 14, 2025 after public advertisement for Student Enrichment Services, Expanded Learning Services and Teacher Professional Development. Request for proposals were issued to seventeen (17) vendors with ten (10) vendors responding; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by Aspira Inc. of New Jersey is rejected and deemed unresponsive as this vendor failed to submit a signed proposal; and

WHEREAS, the District desires a pool of qualified service providers to deliver high quality in school, out of school, and summer enrichment programs; and

WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalists identified below as the best qualified vendors based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and

WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contracts has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Julianne Bello, Director of Extended Learning Time.

Recommendation to the Board
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contracts for Student Enrichment Services, Expanded Learning Services and Teacher Professional Development for a two (2) year period commencing April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:

A. National Inventors Hall of Fame Inc., North Canton, OH at a cost not to exceed $250,000.00

B. New Jersey Preforming Arts Center Corp., Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $500,000.00

C. Newark Arts Council, Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $200,000.00
