Summary:

|
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 National Declaration of Emergency proposals were electronically received in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4.5 on Thursday, November 3, 2022 after public advertisement for High School Expanded Learning Services. Request for proposals were issued to four (4) vendors with four (4) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:18A-2(y), the proposal submitted by West Side High School Alumni Association is rejected and deemed unresponsive as this vendor failed to submit a signed proposal as prescribed in the request for proposal specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Board of Education desires highly qualified service providers for in school, out of school, and summer expanded learning; and
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for a two (2) year period of December 1, 2022 through November 30, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Dr. Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent. |

Recommendation to the Board

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for High School Expanded Learning Services for a two (2) year period of December 1, 2022 through November 30, 2024 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
A. Be The Changemakers Inc, Teaneck, NJ at a cost not to exceed $640,400.00
B. The Dr. Muhammad Experience Inc., Newark, NJ at a cost not to exceed $676,000.00
C. Voices International Publications, St. Albans, NY at a cost not to exceed $666,048.00 |
