Summary:
Whereas, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey is located in Hillside, NJ with a mission to fight hunger and poverty in New Jersey by assisting those in need and seeking long-term solutions; and

Whereas, Community Food Bank of New Jersey has agreed to agree to collaborate to deliver enrichment services to children and families at Newark Board of Education district schools; and

Whereas, Community Food Bank of NJ is offering the NJ SNAP-Ed program which is a federally funded grant program teaching good nutrition, how to make food dollars stretch further and how to make physical activity a part of your day; and

Whereas, the MOU is in effect for the 2022-2023 school year.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, Newark Board of Education approves the Memorandum of Understanding between the district and Community Food Bank of New Jersey for the NJ SNAP-Ed program.
