Summary:
|
WHEREAS, proposals were electronically received on Friday, March 14, 2025 after public advertisement for Survey of Trades: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Electrical Instructional Materials. Request for proposals were issued to five (5) vendors with two (2) vendors responding; and
WHEREAS, the District desires a survey of trades course for all first year students enrolled at the Newark School of Architecture & Interior Design; and
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by staff members of the Newark Board of Education and the committee selected the finalist identified below as the best qualified vendor based on their response to the District’s request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, the recommendation for award of term contract has been reviewed and approved by Sandra Marques, Director of Career and Technical Education.

Recommendation to the Board:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Newark Board of Education accepts and approves the award of term contract for Survey of Trades: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Electrical Instructional Materials for a two (2) year period commencing April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2027 with an option to renew for one (1) successive two (2) year period as follows:
Paxton Patterson LLC, Alsip, IL at a cost not to exceed $700,000.00
EXPLANATION: To provide a survey of trades course for all first year students enrolled at the Newark School of Architecture & Interior Design.
